Mr. G.R. Sivakumar completed his education from Breeks Memorial School and Government Arts College, Ooty. He has remained the most sought after teacher in leading schools for over 30 years due to his love of gaining knowledge and sharing it with young minds. His sincere wish is to go on learning until the world runs out of ideas and to impart that to the future generations of students!
His interest in the educational philosophy of J. Krishnamurthy and F.G. Pearce led to his first job as Science, Mathematics and ICT educator in the renowned Blue Mountain School, Ooty in 1993 and continued in The Assam Valley School, Tezpur and DPS Digboi, Assam. In 2002, Mr. Sivakumar came to Surat as the founder Principal of DPS Surat. He continued as Principal from its inception in 2003 until March 2015 and then became Director of DPS Surat and DPS Tapi until July 2019. He was Principal of Tapti Valley International School from August 2019 to May 2025. Mr. Sivakumar is a recipient of many awards for innovative school leadership in Gujarat, bringing about a revolutionary change in the education scenario. Currently, he wishes to make KWS an exemplary world class school. He is an eclectic practitioner of teaching theories that engage, improve and inspire. He is at the vanguard of the technological revolution in schools, introducing Apple iPads, MacBooks and iMac labs, for both curriculum content creation and delivery by staff and students, integrating education technology seamlessly with pedagogy and psychology via many educational conferences across the country. A passionate photographer, birdwatcher, musician, educator, linguist, a voracious reader and an avid sky gazer, his view of life is multi-dimensional. His diverse interests impacting school learning range from History and Photography to teacher education and parent counselling. He is a firm advocate of media literacy and financial literacy even for the youngest learners, with the conviction that the advantages far outpace any drawbacks with adequate safeguards in place. It is his mission to create awareness and interest about the Universe in school children, teachers and parents through Astronomy club and innumerable immensely popular night sky-gazing sessions.
His contribution to KWS is dynamic leadership with the goal of school growing into a beacon of excellence in education. He is deeply committed to fostering holistic student development, innovative teaching methodologies and a student-centric approach. His vision emphasizes not only academic success but also the cultivation of values, creativity, and critical thinking skills. His wish is for every individual under his tutelage to be empowered, be it student, teacher, parent, or even the admin and housekeeping staff.
